Puttur: Private bus from Bengaluru overturns near Uppinangady; one dead, 12 injured

Puttur, Apr 4: A tragic road accident occurred early on Thursday morning when a private bus travelling from Bengaluru to Mangaluru overturned near Neerakatte in Bajattur village, close to Uppinangady on the national highway. The incident, which took place around 5 am, resulted in the death of one passenger and injuries to 12 others.

The deceased has been identified as Harsha (24), a resident of Yadiyur in Bengaluru Rural district. He was reportedly travelling with friends from Bengaluru to Mulky, on the outskirts of Mangaluru.

Among the injured, 11 individuals are currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Uppinangady, while one has been shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for advanced medical care.

Traffic police from Puttur visited the accident site and conducted an inspection. Further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
