Kundapur, Dec 26: The mortal remains of Anoop Poojary, a resident of Beejadi who was martyred in an army truck accident in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, reached his hometown Beejadi on Thursday.
The coffin containing Anoop Poojary’s mortal remains was transported to Beejadi from Udupi on Thursday morning. The final journey commenced from Thekkatte on NH 66, with thousands expected to gather and pay their last respects to the martyred soldier. After the procession, the mortal remains will be handed over to the family.
The final rites will be performed at his residence in Beejadi village. Arrangements have been made for close relatives to view the mortal remains at the family’s home, while the public can pay their respects at the Beejadipadu Government School grounds.
The cremation will take place at Beejadi beach, with preparations underway on government land near the beach. The district administration, local police, and army personnel will participate in the final rites as a mark of respect to the brave soldier.
