Mangaluru, Dec 20: Mount Carmel Central School, celebrated the annual day for grades 1 to 4 on December 20 in the school auditorium, embracing the theme ‘Armonia universale – Peace within and around.'

The chief guest, Jane Saldanha, assistant general manager, Karnataka Bank, Mangaluru along with joint secretary Sr Josephine Pais, principal Sr Melissa, administrator Sr Carissima and PTA vice president Preema D’Cunha were warmly welcomed through Poorna Kumbha Swagatham and were ushered in by the school band.

The programme began with a melodious prayer song invoking divine blessings, followed by a vibrant prayer dance setting the tone for the day's celebrations. The principal, Sister Melissa, warmly welcomed the esteemed guests and the gathering.

Grade 1 students beautifully enacted ‘Peace with Nature’ through an engaging skit that transported the audience to a lush forest. Grade 2 students delved into ‘Inner Peace’, portraying its role in cultivating a calm and focused mind and the need to overcome emotions like sadness, fear and anger in order to experience inner peace and joy.

The event also included the presentation of the annual report, which highlighted the academic achievements, co-curricular activities, and accolades earned by the students throughout the year. The chief guest madam Jane Saldanha, in her address, praised the students for their remarkable performances and emphasized the need for collective efforts to nurture a peaceful and harmonious world.

The theme of ‘Peace in Society’ was brought to life by grade 3 students, who highlighted values such as road safety, cleanliness, and fostering harmonious friendships. The grand finale was presented by grade 4 students, who performed a captivating skit titled ‘The Peace Ambassador’s Journey.’ The story followed the peace ambassador visiting various countries to spread the universal message of peace and harmony, underscored by powerful dialogues, cultural dances, and a unifying group song, culminating in the Bethlehem scene with the Christmas message of hope, love and peace.

The annual day celebration not only entertained the audience but also left an indelible impression of the importance of peace and harmony in people's lives. The vote of thanks was delivered eloquently by Lavanya, Brennan and Tia. The programme was skillfully compered by Tanya, Nishka, Ethan and Vihaan, who kept the audience engaged and ensured the seamless flow of the day's proceedings.

Mount Carmel Central School continues to inspire young learners to strive for excellence and contribute to a better and more peaceful world.
