Mangaluru, Dec 17: Yen-Refined, Yenepoya Research Centre for finance and entrepreneurship development, a research centre of The Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management (YIASCM), Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) organised a short-term course on “Strategic research writing and publication for scopus / web of science/ABDC listed journals” from December 9 to January 4, 2025.
The workshop focused on equipping participants with advanced skills and strategies necessary for writing and publishing high-quality research articles in Scopus, Web of Science, and ABDC-listed journals. Designed for research scholars, faculty members, and early-career researchers, the course aimed to bridge the gap between research writing and successful publication.
The short-term course was thoughtfully structured to provide a step-by-step guide to mastering the art of strategic research writing and publication. It emphasized developing a strong foundation in academic writing, starting from identifying research gaps to aligning research objectives with publication goals. Participants were introduced to techniques for drafting compelling introductions, reviewing literature critically, and presenting robust methodology and results sections. A special focus was given to enhancing manuscript readability and adhering to formatting guidelines specific to Scopus, Web of Science, and ABDC-listed journals.
The workshop commenced with an inaugural ceremony on December 9, setting the tone of intensive learning. The session was presided over by Prof Arun A Bhagwath, principal and dean of the faculty of science at YIASCM, alongside other notable dignitaries, including Prof. Shareena P, vice principal and dean of the faculty of commerce & management, and Prof. Jeevan Raj, vice principal of YIASCM, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University). The resource person, Dr Niyaz Panakaje, associate professor & coordinator of Yen-Refined, YIASCM, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) graced the occasion.
Prof Arun A Bhagwath, principal and dean of faculty of science, in his presidential remark highlighted the commendable work being carried out by the Yen-Refined under the leadership of Dr Niyaz Panakaje. He lauded the successful completion of one year of the Yen-Refined initiative, emphasizing its contributions to research excellence.
