Bantwal, Nov 29: The nine-day novena prayers leading to the annual feast of Velankanni Matha Church, Farla, commenced with the hoisting of the Velankanni Matha flag. The flag-raising ceremony was led by Fr Charles Fernandes, marking the official start of the celebrations.

Following the flag hoisting, novena prayers and a solemn Eucharistic Mass were offered. Fr Mark D’Souza, the parish priest, conducted special prayers for the devotees.

A large number of devotees from the surrounding areas participated in the prayers, seeking blessings and offering their devotions to Velankanni Matha.

The annual feast of the church is a significant religious event that witnesses enthusiastic participation from devotees across the region.
