Mangaluru, Nov 21: Manipal School, celebrated Children’s Day with their annual extravaganza ‘Hungama’ a kaleidoscope of colours and activities, on November 14. Organized with enthusiasm, this event combined joy, learning and a spirit of giving back to the community.

The celebration commenced with a special assembly where teachers took center stage, showcasing their talents through a lively display of dance and songs. This marked the beginning of a day filled with excitement, highlighting the unique bond between teachers and students at Manipal School. Following this joyful opening, student volunteers were recognized for their contributions to various events, adding to the sense of unity and appreciation.

The usually serene campus buzzed with excitement as it transformed into a lively carnival, offering a variety of activities and surprises. Students engaged in game stalls showcasing their playful spirit, thrills and chills awaited in the Horror House, the Jukebox played children's favourite tunes and the beats inspired impromptu dance parties creating an atmosphere of pure joy.

A mesmerizing magic show captivated the junior school students, weaving a spell of wonder and astonishment. The magician's tricks added a touch of magic to the already enchanting day.

The air in the school quadrangle filled with the aroma of diverse cuisines. From savoury snacks to sweet delights, the culinary offerings left everyone's taste buds thoroughly satisfied.

Adding a heart-warming touch to the event, Manipal School extended a warm welcome to the differently-abled students from St Agnes Special School and the students of a nearby government school, promoting inclusivity and community engagement. Throughout the day, these special guests were not just observers but active participants, engaging in various activities and sharing their joy with the entire school community. The differently-abled students were presented with thoughtful tokens of appreciation: handcrafted bookmarks made by Manipal School students, accompanied by a rose as a gesture of respect and gratitude. Similarly, the students from the government school received handmade bookmarks featuring smiley faces, symbolizing warmth and happiness.

Their presence highlighted the school's dedication to nurturing empathy and understanding. The event became a poignant reminder that ‘Hungama’ is not only about celebration but also about creating lasting memories that transcend barriers and build connections.

Adding an educational dimension to the celebration, ‘Hungama 2024’ provided students from grades 9 to 12 an opportunity for Experiential Learning. They gained hands-on entrepreneurial experience by managing game and food stalls. The students participated in a masterclass on ‘How to set up a small business,’ conducted by grade 12 commerce students, covering various aspects to be considered while establishing a stall, including cost management, presentation, and hygiene. Understanding the importance of entrepreneurship, they successfully operated various stalls, earning profits and valuable insights. The initiative emphasized not only entrepreneurship but also social responsibility, with proceeds from the event set aside for charitable donations to create awareness of social contribution.

‘Hungama’ at Manipal School, Mangaluru not only celebrated Children's Day with enthusiasm but also showcased the school's dedication to creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for all.
