Puttur: St Philomena College students selected to represent inter-university weightlifting team

Puttur, Nov 20: St Philomena Autonomous College, students have been selected to represent the inter-university weightlifting team. The selection trials, held at Alva’s College, Moodbidri, showcased the strength and determination of athletes from across the region.

Beulah PT, a student of II MCom, secured her spot in the 64 kg category, while Spandana, a student of II BSc, earned her place in the 45 kg category. Their stellar performances during the trials have made them eligible to compete in the upcoming inter-university weightlifting championship, scheduled to take place in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.

Principal of the college Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro and faculty have lauded their achievement. Both athletes expressed gratitude for the support they received from the college and physical education director of the college Dr Elias Pinto.
