Mangaluru, Sep 7: The students of KG to primary section of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru celebrated the Nativity of Mother Mary and nature festivals on September 6 with a blend of faith, festivity and cultural richness. Grade III A and B were the hosts of the programme.
The event for the students commenced with a serene prayer song, setting a reflective tone for the day. Dravin, Manasvini and Samanvi extended a warm welcome to the chief guest Preema D’Cunha, PTA vice president of the school and the audience. The significance of various festivals like Nativity of Mother Mary, Ganesh Chathurthi, Onam and Eid was highlighted by the students, each accompanied by songs dedicated to their unique traditions and culture.
A fitting tribute was paid to the farmers through an expressive dance, acknowledging their vital role in nurturing nature and providing food for society. The Nativity of Mother Mary, the patroness of the school was beautifully depicted in the skit enacted by the students. The winners of the elocution competition conducted on the occasion were felicitated by the chief guest.
The chief guest Preema D’Cunha and administrator Sr Carissima delivered insightful speeches, praising the spirit of togetherness and the celebration of nature. The programme concluded with a note of thanks by Thanish, Ania Nazareth and Aarav Ajith, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of this special day. The celebration truly served as a reminder of the importance of faith, tradition and a deep connection between humanity and nature.
