Mangaluru, Aug 15: St Agnes Preparatory School (CBSE) commemorated Independence Day with fervour, fostering a deep sense of patriotism and freedom among its young students. The event, hosted in the school hall, featured a series of performances that underscored the importance of the occasion and instilled a profound nationalistic sentiment in all attendees.
The Independence Day festivities commenced with a march-past, during which students displayed admirable discipline and unity. Accompanied by the melodious tunes of the band, the young participants paraded with pride, extending a warm and respectful welcome to the esteemed chief guest.
The event began with a poignant prayer song rendered by the LKG students. Their melodious voices resonated throughout the hall, evoking a tranquil and reverent atmosphere that set the stage for the day’s proceedings. The prayer underscored the significance of unity, peace, and love for the country.
Subsequently, the students enthralled the audience with a lively welcome dance. Infused with exuberance and zeal, the children’s performance highlighted the diversity and cultural vibrancy of the nation.
Teacher Mary delivered the welcome speech, extending a warm greeting to the esteemed chief guest Sr Janet Sequiera AC, vice principal Sr Meena AC, Coordinator Sr Letitia AC, as well as parents, teachers, and students. The chief guest was graciously welcomed with a floral tribute.
The event’s focal point was a patriotic medley performed by pre-kg and junior KG students, followed by a captivating dance presentation by senior KG students showcasing the diverse cultural heritage of the nation. Additionally, senior kg students presented a skit illustrating the significance of Independence Day, emphasizing the symbolism of the national flag, honouring the sacrifices of freedom fighters, and showcasing various state cultures through their attire.
The chief guest, Sr Janet Sequiera AC, extended congratulations to both students and teachers for orchestrating a significant and engaging programme. She emphasized the importance of fostering respect for the country and encouraged students to contribute positively to the nation. Additionally, Sr Janet Sequiera AC underscored the pivotal role of education in shaping the future of the nation and praised parents for their diligent efforts in nurturing young minds.
The event was skilfully hosted by LKG and UKG students. Following this, teacher Shanthi delivered a vote of thanks. The ceremony culminated in a rendition of the National Anthem, with all attendees standing as a mark of respect and honour for the nation.
