Mangaluru, Aug 14: The 78th Independence Day assembly was celebrated on August 14 by the students of Grades 3A and 3B of St Theresa's School, Bendur, Mangaluru, in the school’s main hall with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The event was graced by chief guest Dr Amith D’Souza, along with the vice principal, Sr Reena, adding prestige to the occasion.
The programme began with a prayer service, thanking God for His abundant blessings.
To emphasize the significance of the day, students from both classes delivered heartfelt speeches on the importance of Independence Day. Their words reflected the pride and gratitude that every Indian feels toward the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters.
The cultural programme included a patriotic dance performance by the students of Grade 3A and 3B. The dance was a moving tribute to the nation, portraying its rich cultural heritage and the spirit of unity in diversity. The performance was met with loud applause, indicating its impact on the audience.
