Udupi: MAHE Manipal organises orientation programme 2024 for dept of commerce

Udupi, Jul 27: The department of commerce (DoC) at MAHE, Manipal, successfully hosted the 'Orientation Programme 2024' for BBA and BCom students. The event was honoured by the presence of distinguished guests, including Dr Naga Siddharth, CHRO of Urban Piper, Bengaluru, and Jeswin Jose, senior HR professional from the Big4s.

Dr Naga Siddharth, the chief guest for the BBA programme, emphasised the importance of being enterprising to excel and having the intent to help others succeed. He congratulated the students on selecting a commendable programme and praised DoC MAHE as a premier institution.

Jeswin Jose, the chief guest for the BCom programme, highlighted the significance of perseverance and dedication for a successful career. He also stressed the impact of social networking skills on career growth and the importance of the right attitude in solving problems in all walks of life.

Dr Madhu Veeraraghavan, pro vice-chancellor for management, humanities, social sciences, and law at MAHE, Bengaluru campus, attended as the guest of honour. He spoke on the critical role of discipline in channelising energy towards excellence and success, underscoring the need for problem-solving skills, communication skills, teamwork, leadership, flexibility, adaptability, and technological proficiency.

Dr Sandeep S Shenoy, head of the department of commerce, presided over the event and provided an overview of the department's growth and achievements over the past 17 years. Dr Rashmi Yogesh Pai, associate head, extended a warm welcome to the gathering.

The chief guests were introduced by Dr Shilpa Gopal, BBA coordinator, and Dr Abhishek Rao, BCom coordinator. Dr Mathew Thomas Gil, assistant head of student engagement, proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme was coordinated by Komal Jennifer D’Souza and Princia Nikita D’Souza who served as the master of ceremonies.
