Mangaluru, Jul 24: St Aloysius College Higher Primary school bid farewell to Fr John D Souza SJ and welcomed to Fr Johnson Pinto SJ
St Aloysius Higher Primary School held a special assembly to bid farewell to the outgoing correspondent, Fr John D'Souza SJ and welcomed the new correspondent, Fr Johnson Pinto SJ on July 22. God's blessings were invoked through a prayer song by the students of Class 6.
The headmistress welcomed the gathering and introduced Fr Johnson Pinto SJ to the students. The student Secretary, Mayola Pinto offered a floral welcome to Fr Jhonson Pinto. The headmistress expressed gratitude to Fr John D'Souza for his significant contributions to the school. ASPL, Rishon D Sa thanked him with flowers as a token of appreciation.
During the programme, Snithik N of class 5 was honoured for his exceptional achievements in swimming at the state level. He has secured a gold medal in the 200 meters individual medley, a silver medal in the 400 meters freestyle, a bronze medal in the 100 meters butterfly, a gold medal in the 4x50 meters freestyle relay and a silver medal in the 4x50 meters medley relay.
The occasion also celebrated the accomplishments of students selected for the national level spell bee competition. Notable achievements included:
Jordan Calvert Feston of class 2 securing 6th rank at the state level
Shlok Sacheth Shettigar of class 3 securing 6th rank
Asher Crasta of class 3 securing 6th rank
Anisha A E of class 6 securing 4th rank
Anvay Ramprasad of class 6 securing 8th rank
Prinston George D’Souza of class 7 securing 6th rank.
Medals and certificates were awarded to students who participated in the Spell Bee and handwriting competitions as a mark of appreciation.
Fr John D’Souza SJ addressed the students, expressing his happiness and contentment from his tenure at the school. He shared his dream of implementing positive changes and encouraged the students to pursue their dreams with determination.
Fr Johnson Pinto SJ also spoke, appreciating and thanking Fr John D'Souza SJ for his contributions to the school. He shared an inspiring story and emphasized the importance of teachers having a big heart and open hands to impart knowledge generously to their students.
Assistance headmaster Liya D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme concluded with the felicitation of Fr John D’Souza SJ by the correspondent, headmistress, and staff. The event ended with the school anthem, marking the end of a memorable day.
