Udupi, Jun 8: IMJ College of Science and Commerce, Moodlekatte, celebrates student talent show 'Kalotsava-2024' and the anniversary of the college was on June 5-6.
Dr G M Gond, principal, Bhandarkar's PU College was chief guest at the anniversary of the college held on June 6. He participated and appreciating the excellent infrastructure and resources of the college for the all-round development of the students, he spoke highly of the discipline of the students. He congratulated the management of the college for encouraging sports, social and cultural activities along with learning. He asserted that it is better for students to be inspired and follow that path instead of imitating.
Vrinda Konnar, participated as the guest, addressed the students and told them to utilize the abundant opportunities of student life. She explained how art along with learning can bring passion and change in life.
Students were divided into 5 teams and gave the performance reflecting the various art and culture of Karnataka in the program. The students presented various art forms like Yakshagana, Bharatanatyam, Chandevadana, Veeragase, Kangeel, Ranga Kunita, Soma Kunita, Janapada Nritya, Short Drama etc. in a brilliantly staged talent show.
Team Agastya, who performed brilliantly, was crowned the champion, while Team Advaita took second place. Rashita Shetty, the first BCA student of Chanakya's team, emerged as the best presenter. Prizes were distributed to the students who achieved academically good marks in the final examination of the last semester and toppers of each class and to the winners of various sports, cultural and other competitions.
Dr Pratibha M Patel, principal of the college presided over the programme and presented the annual report. Dr Ramakrishna Hegde, Brand Building director of the college spoke about the progress and vision of the college. On this occasion, Sanit Shetty, second BCA student who represented the Karnataka team in national level cricket was felicitated.
Jayasheel Kumar, vice principal of the college welcomed the guests in the programme. Sumana, Kannada lecturer, introduced the guests. Swarnarani, head of BCA Department, read out the list of prize winners. Rashita Shetty, student, gave the vote of thanks. Archana, commerce lecturer, compered the programme.
