Kundapur, Oct 22: BJP activists from Bangalore arrived at Kollur and performed ‘Chandika Homa’ at Goddess Mookambika Temple there on Friday October 21, to appease the Goddess and seek from her the boon of Yeddyurappa’s release from incarceration without any hitch.
The group was led by BJP activist, Ganeshprasad Shetty. The activists, after performing the oblation, prostrated before Goddess Mookambika and other family deities, and prayed for the early release of Yeddyurappa. Speaking to press persons later, Ganeshprasad claimed that Yeddyurappa had not committed any wrongs. “Our leader, Yeddyurappa, has been an ardent devotee of the Goddess. He had made it a habit to visit Kollur often and present before the Goddess his moments of glory and tribulations. We have come here to beg to the Goddess for our leader’s early release from jail,” he explained.
Byndoor MLA, K Lakshminarayana, was present on the occasion. He said that the BJP activists have been going through a period of agony on account of the arrest of Yeddyyurappa. He said the BJP activists have sought favour from the Goddess by way of release of Yeddyurappa before Deepavali festival.
