Bengaluru: St Charles PU College celebrates World Environment Day with Street Play

Bengaluru, Jun 5: St Charles PU College in Bengaluru commemorated World Environment Day on June 5 with a unique and impactful initiative - a street play performed at Halasooru Lake to raise awareness about environmental preservation.

The play served as a creative and engaging platform to educate the public on the importance of protecting the planet.

The event was organised by under the leadership of Dr Sr Nancy Cutinho SCB principal- St Charles Women’s PU College Lingarajapuram, staff and students. Event was graced by the presence of Aparna Pujari, an eco-entrepreneur, who served as the chief guest. Her presence highlighted the college's commitment to promoting sustainable practices and environmental consciousness.

During the celebration, Aparna Pujari unveiled an innovative concept - manufacturing paper pencils with seeds embedded in them. This eco-friendly initiative aligns perfectly with the principles of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (the 3Rs) and serves as a practical example of sustainable living. The manager of St Charles Women’s PU College Sr Lucy Mascarenhas SCB was also present at this occasion n received saplings from the students.

St Charles PU College's initiative not only raises awareness about environmental issues but also inspires others to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. Aparna Pujari's presence and her eco-friendly seed pencils serve as a testament to the college's commitment to environmental stewardship and its role in inspiring the community to take action.
