Udupi, Mar 27: Praveen Chowgule, accused of murdering a mother and her three children in Nejar, has refuted the charges against him at the Udupi Second Additional District and Sessions Court.
Praveen, who is currently incarcerated in Parappana Agrahara jail, Bengaluru, was brought to court under heavy police security on March 27, 2024, by the case investigating officer, Malpe Police Circle Inspector Krishna S K. Judge Dinesh Hegde read out the allegations against the accused, but Chowgule reportedly stated that he has done no wrong and refuted the accusations.
Subsequently, the judge ordered a pretrial conference on April 5 to discuss the proceedings for this serious case. The case investigating officer, special public prosecutor, and defense lawyer will participate in the conference, along with the judge, to determine how the hearings will be conducted in the future. The agenda and the witnesses for the upcoming hearings will be decided during this meeting.

Quadruple murder case accused Praveen Chowgule appears in Udupi court

Udupi, Mar 27: Praveen Chowgule, the accused in the quadruple murder case, was brought before the Udupi second JMFC court on Wednesday, March 27, in accordance with the court's directives.
The Udupi second JMFC court had instructed officials at Parappana Agrahara to produce him.
Chowgule had been in judicial custody at Parappana Agrahara prior to his appearance in court.
"Praveen Chowgule, the accused in the Nejar quadruple murder case, was presented before the Second JMFC court for framing charges. He was brought by officials from Bengaluru Central Jail and has since been returned to the same facility. We aim to expedite the trial process," stated Udupi SP Dr Arun K.
It may be recalled, Chowgule had initiated a brutal attack killing Afnan (23) and Ainaz (21). Aseem (12) and injuring Haseena (46) on November 12, 2023.
