Mangaluru: 'EX'MAS Christmas celebration held at Expert PU College, Valachil

Mangaluru, Dec 25: 'EX'MAS, the Christmas at Expert was celebrated with great joy and happiness in the Cultural Centre of the Valachil campus.

Chief guest Wencita Dias, winner of Miss Teen Karnataka title, actor and model inaugurated the programme by lighting the candles and cutting the Christmas cake.

Speaking on the occasion she said, "Let us strive to celebrate Christmas more meaningfully, have an attitude of gratitude and thank God for all the seen and unseen blessings. Give more and do not expect anything in return. A kind gesture of ours can be a reason for someone's smile." She appreciated the tradition of Expert College for celebrating festivals of all faiths equally.

The festivities kicked off with dance and singing of Christmas carols by the students. Santa Claus made a grand entry which spread joy and laughter among the audience.

Christmas tree and the crib were embellished with twinkling stars, germinating seedlings of millet and attractive lightings were the highlights of the programme.

Raghavendra Shenoy, vice principal (admin) welcomed the chief guest with a bouquet and honoured with a memento. Rakshith Shetty, programme director and other faculty members were present on the occasion.

At the end of the programme, Spices and Chefs served sumptuous festival meal with different delicacies.

The cabinet members of the students' parliament Arya Kariyannanar and Chiranthan Surya welcomed the gathering and rendered vote of thanks respectively.
