Beltangady, Dec 24: Chandrika (20), second BCom student of SDM college Ujire is selected for the south zone football competition that will be held at Calicut from December 28. She represented Mangaluru university women’s football team of 2023-24.

Chandrika is the daughter of Late Mohan and Yashoda couple, residents of Ankaje in Laila village. She has bagged several prizes in various sports events.

Chandrika represented Mangaluru university in the handball tournament that was held at Cochin of Kerala in 2022-23 and represented south zone also. She also took part in the amateur sports event held at Bengaluru in 2022-23.

Chandrika bagged second place in 400-meter hurdles and 4x400 meters relay in the Mangalore university games of 2022-23 that were held in Udupi recently. She also took part in the 2022-23 Dasara sports event. In addition, Chandrika participated in the state level amateur sports event of 2023-24. She bagged second place in racing in the 2022-23 Mangaluru University competition.
