Mangaluru, Dec 20: St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated its 12th annual day under the theme, ‘Samanvay-Bridging Cultures’ with great splendour for 3 days.
On December 14, Pre-KG to class two celebrated annual day which was graced by Roopa Baliga, managing director and principal of Treehouse Playschool, Mangaluru. She urged the parents to let their children dream big and provide them with moral values, integrity of character and a good education so that they can bloom into confident human beings.
Classes 3 to 5 celebrated the annual day on December 15. Corrine Antoinette Rasquina, founder and president of White Doves, was the chief guest of the programme. In her address, she highlighted giving importance to students’ mental health, instilling values, nurturing skills of resilience and fostering love. Classes 6 to 12 celebrated the annual day on December 16 in the school premises. The occasion was graced by Dr Rio D’Souza, principal of St Joseph Engineering College.
The chief guest, Dr Rio D’Souza, in his address said, “The education that students receive in this school is the tools that empower them to face the challenges of the complex world.” He gave a call to students to discover their inherent values in them to help society in future life. Fr Melwyn Joseph Pinto SJ Rector, in his presidential address, congratulated and appreciated the progress of the school and said that parents should not judge their children by their marks but appreciate and encourage them to be global citizens. The principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ, presented the annual report 2023, summarising the key events and achievements of the school.
The dignitaries were given a ceremonial welcome by the school band, and NCC cadets, accompanied by the principal, vice-principals, PTA vice-president, head boy and the head girl. A spectacular cultural event was presented by the students reflecting the theme, ‘Samanvay-Bridging Cultures’ with a plethora of dances, skits, songs and orchestras which enthralled the audience. Academic toppers 2022-23 and achievers at CBSE zonal and national sports were felicitated on this occasion. Deepa Karkada and Preethan Periera coordinated the three-day programme.
