Mangaluru, Dec 16: St Agnes PU College organised ‘FRESCO 2K23’, an event for the high school students of St Agnes, which aimed to provide valuable insights and guidance to the students regarding their career paths.
A serene atmosphere was created among the students through a prayer song led by Jeeya and team, this not only served as a spiritual grounding but also as a reminder of the importance of values and ethics in one's life. The students were then warmly welcomed by Felicia from the department of statistics followed by a meaningful inauguration of the event. The principal addressed the crowd and encouraged the students and advised them to choose the right career path.
To break the ice and set a positive atmosphere an interactive activity was held by Carol, department of mathematics. The students diligently and enthusiastically participated in the career guidance sessions that were conducted by the faculty of science, commerce and arts by Ashwin, Mathew and Olivia respectively. Manaswi from science, Vinishia from commerce and Alisha Thimmaiah from arts shared their experience about each of their respective streams and the ups and downs of college life. A science activity was held to uphold the cheerful atmosphere of the event and energize the students. The students were then shown an informative and inspiring video about the college and everything that we offer to encourage the students. A sports film was showcased which imbibed the athletic ferocity of the talented sports students and the various sports teams and events held by the college. Through the eloquent and dignified speaking of Anitha from the department of Hindi the students were shown the importance of language. The students were also entertained through a pumped up dance performance by Harsha and team. The participants showed their appreciation with gratifying feedback through a student representative.
The students of both I and II PUC performed a show stopping dance drama that displayed all the events that had taken place throughout the academic year. The audience were elated with the performance and thoroughly enjoyed it. The programme was compered by Venessa Lee, department of chemistry, Sr Norine D’Souza, principal, Sr Janet Sequeira, vice principal, Sr Gloria, headmistress, St Agnes High School, staff and students were present for the programme.
In conclusion, the FRESCO career guidance event successfully blended elements of inspiration, spirituality and community building to create a well-rounded experience for the participants. It laid the foundation for a meaningful exploration of career opportunities and personal growth. The event provided a platform for individuals to connect, learn and live with renewed sense of purpose and direction in their professional journey.
