Udupi, Dec 16: The Annual Sports Meet of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal was held on December 16, in the institute premises.

Rathnakumar, secretary of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust (SSVMET), was the chief guest for the inaugural function.

Rathankumar, inaugurating the event said, “Taking part in sports is very helpful for physical fitness. It will help to reduce mental stress in busy life.”

Rathankumar distributed the prizes to the winners in the sports competitions.

An attractive march past was held before the inauguration. The mechanical and civil engineering students won the best contingent award in march past.

Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal of the institute presided over the function. Gajendra, student sports secretary, administered the oath to the participants and proposed the vote of thanks.

Paul Suraj, physical education director and faculty, staff and students were present.
