Udupi, Dec 6: Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal is recognized as the mentor institute by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell. The SMVITM is the only institute recognized as the mentor institute in Udupi district and also one among the 13 colleges in Karnataka to achieve this.
Under this scheme, 100 high-performing IIC institutions will act as mentors to 500 IIC institutions. Each mentor institute will receive funding assistance of Rs 225000 from MIC/AICTE to organize the prescribed activities for the mentee institutions.
The objective of the mentor-mentee scheme for IIC institutions is to engage high-performing IIC institutions, especially those that have secured a star rating of 3.5 and above during the previous IIC calendar year, to act as mentors for IIC institutions in need of guidance and support. This twinning programme aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and resource mobilization between institutions through inter-institutional collaborations. The scheme is designed to pair one mentor IIC institute with up to five mentee IIC institutes.
The institute also secured 3 stars rating during the academic year 2022-23 for conducting various activities under the theme innovation and entrepreneurship and also for participating in various programmes conducted by the innovation cell. The institute is performing well in last few years and showing remarkable progress in building the innovation and start-up echo-system.
The management, principal and faculty members whole heartedly congratulated the head and team members of Institute Innovation Council for their splendid work and achieving a milestone. Also, they wished many more such achievements in the near future for the benefit of students.
