Mangaluru, Nov 2: "Kannada language is a reflection of our culture. We are proud to be Kannadigas and to speak Kannada language with pride as it is our state language," said Ankush N Nayak, director, information technology, Expert PU College, Valachil, after unfurling the Karnataka state flag at the campus on November 1.
Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, Expert PU College, Valachil, offered a floral tribute to goddess Bhuvaneswari and said, "Every Kannadigas must have pride in the rich cultural legacy of Karnataka and we should be proud for obtaining maximum number of Jnana Peeta awards."
Prof Shyam Prasad Bhat, AICE co-ordinator, opined, "We are proud to recall the glorious history of our state." He explained the richness of Kannada language which brings unity among the people of Karnataka and the contribution of Karnataka's poets, artists and writers makes all to be proud of this great land.
Dr Shrikrishna Bhat, lecturer, department of Kannada sang a melodious Bhavageethe of Kuvempu ‘Bhaarisu Kannada dindimava, oh Karnataka hrudayashiva’ which enhanced the glory of the programme.
Raghavendra Shenoy, vice-principal (Administration), Subramanya Udupa vice-principal (Academics), Gurudatta N, coaching head, Saraswathi B N, HOD, department of Kannada and other faculty members were present on the occasion.
Veeksha H, a student of C1 batch welcomed the dignitaries and proposed vote of thanks.
