Media Release

Udupi, Oct 2: Students and faculty of GM Global School (GMGS), Brahmavar  reverently observed Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti by honouring them with flower offerings and a lamp lighting ceremony. The students lovingly recited Gandhi's adored bhajan, 'Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram' and presented speeches on the patriotic duo.

In a bid to encourage cleanliness and pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 154th birthday, students and faculty enthusiastically participated in the 'Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath' cleanliness drive by sanitising school premises.

At the programme organized to mark the event, GMGS chairman Prakashchandra Shetty reiterated Gandhi's age-old adage that cleanliness is godliness. Encouraging students to read the autobiographies of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, he urged them to become Mahatmas by recalling their principles.

Principal Pranav Shetty remarked on the core values of discipline, modesty and non-violence shared by Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri despite being 35 years apart.
