Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 16: The dual celebration of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary and Girl Child Day was held in the St Ann’s High School hall. The festal celebration began with an annual tradition of the school, The Love Offering. Students with great generosity contributed food grains, pulses, fruits, vegetables, sugar, salt, wheat flour, biscuits, cooking oil, detergent soap, bathing soaps in kind and in cash.

The prayer service highlighted the challenges faced by a girl child from womb to the tomb and prayed to Almighty God for His graces. The classical prayer dance uplifted the atmosphere of prayer. The students performed a meaningful English skit on the value of a girl child in the family. The students blended their voices to sing a melodious song on the theme of the day. A Kannada skit conveyed the message that every girl child should be educated and allowed to achieve her goals in life. The finale was an exciting mix of dances performed by both the boys and girls as a tribute to Mother India.

Shreya Suvarna rendered the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Shimaz and Sannidhi. The programme was performed by the students of 9 A and B with the guidance of their class teachers Raksha and Sarah as their class activity.
