Mangaluru, Sep 13: Investor awareness programme was held at Dr P Dayananda Pai- P Satisha Pai Government First Grade College, Car Street, for III BCom students on September 12. It was the initiative of IQAC of the college in association with the department of commerce and collaboration of Mangalore University Commerce Teachers Association (MUCTA).
The day began with the inaugural programme and the chief guest was Mithun Chandra, assistant professor, Shree Gokarnanatheshwara College, Mangaluru. The programme began with a prayer song from III BCom C batch students and welcome was accorded by Suvarnamalini B, HoD of commerce.
It was presided by Prof Jayakara Bhandary, principal of the college and a prelude to IAP was given by Louis Manoj, general secretary of MUCTA. Dr Walter D’Souza, assistant professor, department of commerce proposed a vote of thanks. The inaugural programme was beautifully compered by Varnashree from III BCom C batch.
The day had three session namely ‘Financial Literacy’ by Yvonil D’Souza, an investment services professional from Mangaluru, ‘Back to Basics’ by Leo Amal A, senior branch manager, Franklin Templeton India Private Ltd and ‘Hands on Personal Investment Planning’ by an investment services professional from Mangaluru.
In all 340 final year BCom Students and 20 teachers from the college benefited out of the programme.
