Bangalore, Aug 7: At a time when more and more people, particularly the youth, are turning away from God and religious or spiritual aspects in their hectic and busy lives and keep themselves busy in materialistic pursuits, Bangalore's dynamic Archbishop Rev Dr Bernard Moras unique forum, 'God is in Control,' under the aegis of the Bangalore Archdiocese's Bangalore Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services (BCCRS) two years ago to help the faithful to meet the challenges faced by them at the workplace.
The forum, God is in Control, having the noble mission and a clear vision to inspire Christians to be rooted in Christ, experience the fullness of life and be a witness at the workplace as Jesus Christ wanted all his followers to be. The fellowship, started in 2009, focuses primarily on equipping the working and business community with Biblical principles through one-on-one prayer, networking and skill building and thereby providing solutions to overcome the various challenges of work life.
The 'God is in Control' fellowship has now planned three faith-building workshops presented by US-based Dr Owen Phelps, who is a management professor in the Cardinal Stritch University College of Management and a consultant to the Conference of Catholic Bishops' Conference of America, in Bangalore this month.
The first of the three workshop titled, ''Leading Like Jesus,” is being held on August 11 and 12 from 9 am to 5.30 pm at the Archdiocesan patoral centre 'Paalana Bhavan' on Nandidurg Road, Jayamahal Extension, while the second workshop titled, ''Life Leadership 2011,” will be held on August 13 and 14 from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm at Capitol Hotel on Raj Bhavan Road. The third and final workshop will be held on Independence Day at the Sophia Girls' High School Auditorium from 3.30 pm to 7.30 pm and is titled, ''Transforming work life.”
