Mangalore, Aug 2: The mechanized housekeeping services by ISO certified city-based Durga Facility Management Services Private Limited was inaugurated at Mangalore Airport by Airport Authority of India (AAI) chairman V P Agarwal and Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Bharat Bhushan during their visit to the airport here, recently.
B S Shetty is the managing director of Durga Facility and founded the enterprise nearly a decade ago.
Durga Facility bagged this tender worth Rs 1.30 crore from among two short-listed bidders of five bidders for a three-year term extendable for two more years.
Durga Facility already has contracts with KSRTC under Mangalore division with depots in Puttur, Sullia, Kundapur, and Udupi, besides multiplexes and star hotels in the city. It has the Environment Management Certificate (EMC) that was one of the pre-requisite for the tender. It has 600 skilled workmen to handle the cleaning machines.
The mechanized housekeeping facility was begun at the Airport here on Monday August 1.
