Mangaluru: St Agnes High School, Bendore celebrates ‘Vanamahotsava’ enthusiastically

Mangaluru, Jul 12: Every year the school discovers new paths to plant the seeds for an integral ecology in the minds of the students. On Tuesday, July 10, the students of St Agnes High School, Bendore celebrated ‘vanamahotsava’ enthusiastically.

The programme began with a prayer service invoking divine blessings. The significance of the day was highlighted to create awareness among the students. A marvellous welcome dance was performed by the students followed by a beautiful and meaningful skit by showing the past and present situation of the mother earth. The students highlighted the theme of vanamahotsava ‘A plastic free environment’. It’s a nation-wide issue and the duty of human being to be responsible towards nature was highlighted.

The students were encouraged to plant saplings in their schools, in their houses and surroundings. The headmistress Sr Gloria AC along with Teacher Prathima handed over the saplings to each of the class leaders to grow in the school garden.

The headmistress Sr Gloria AC congratulated the students of XA for their meaningful performances and urged every student to know how important it is to save natureand mother earth and gave a message on the destruction in the environment and as students how one can protect mother earth.

The programme was compered by Yashvi.

Pranamya delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was brought to a closure by singing the national anthem.
