Child Prodigy Ayana Raman Enraptures Audience at 75th Bharatanatyam Show

Moodbidri, Jul 25: Bharatanatyam child prodigy 7-year-old Ayana V Raman staged her 75th show at the historical Bhairadevi Mantap at Tribhuvanachudamani Basadi (Thousand Pillars Jain temple) here on Sunday July 25.
The show was organized by Davalatraya Trust and www.ekanasu.com in association with Kannada culture department.
Swami Charukeerti Bhattaraka of Jain Mutt, and Mulky - Moodbidri MLA Abayachandra Jain were the chief guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Swami Bhattaraka said that it’s a significant that a Bharatanatyam show that was held in the historical Bhairadevi Mantap, where Kannada litterateur and poet Ratnakar Varni wrote his works in the 16th century sitting at the same venue.
Ayana also recited names of 141 Kannada poets at one go.
She staged her 75th show here as ‘Guruvandane’ to her mentor Geetha Saralaya and teacher Rashmi. She is the daughter of media person K V Raman and Alva's College MSW lecturer Mookambika G S.
The show enlivened the splendour of the Jain dynasties that ruled in the past. It was the same venue where Tulu movie ‘Koti-Chennaya’ was shot.
Ayana’s father K V Raman delivered the introductory address. Lecturer Sitaram welcomed the gathering. Harish K Adoor proposed the vote of thanks. Journalist Dhananjay Moodbidri compered the programme.
