Kundapur, Jun 10: Forest officials rescued a male leopard, about three years old, which fell into a 25-ft deep well three days ago, after continuous operation of two days.
The male leopard fell into the well of Hosamane Sheenappa Shetty near Chittoor Harmannu on June 7, as it had come in search of prey. Sheenappa Shetty saw the leopard the same day and informed the matter to the forest officials.
Forest department personnel Ananda Balegar along with senior officials Udaya Naik, Lobo, Kiran Babu and others arrived at the spot and started the rescuing process.
The well had huge holes across the well and the leopard had got stuck in one of them. That is why the operation was a challenge. However, after 48 hours of continuous effort, the forest officials brought the
leopard up and left it at the Kollur Mookambika reserve forest near Nagodi.
