Mangalore, Jul 9: City-based lawyer, P P Hegde, who is currently the vice-president of Karnataka State Bar Council, has been re-elected to the post for the second time. He happens to be the lone lawyer from undivided Dakshina Kannada district to be elected to the state bar council for the second successive term.
Hegde got his law degree through SDM Law College here with first rank. Last year, he agains got first rank at the national level in the post-graduate law degree examinaiton. Hegde has also been working as the lawyer of the state High Court.
“The inaugural of the golden jubilee celebrations of Karnataka State Bar Council will be held at Bangalore next month. President of India and judges of the Supreme Court have been invited to take part in the function. The council plans to hold cultural and sports competitions at all the district and taluk bar associations as part of the golden jubilee celebrations. Moreover, the welfare fund of the lawyers is proposed to be raised to Rs 10 lac,” Hegde revealed on this occasion.
