Mangalore, Jul 7: On the occasion of post centenary silver jubilee of Mangalore diocese, in aid of the various programmes that are planned a donation check of Rs 1,00,000 was handed over to Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza by Fr Valerian Pinto, parish priest and finance committee members of Holy Cross Church, Cordel, Kulshekar here.
Bishop in his message thanked the Cordel parishioners for their generosity and said,” this will be the initial deposit to start the Jubilee programme. May God bless you all.”
The parish priest also donated a sum of Rs, 50,000 towards the souvenir fund of Jubilee to the convener of Jubilee souvenir advertisement to Monsgr Denis Moras Prabhu.
During the lent of 2011 Cordel parishioners have contributed their Lenten offerings to the ‘Seminary Burse’ an amount of Rs 3, 00,000/- (Benefactors for three Seminarians) was handed over to Dr Joseph Martis, Rector of the Seminary. In his message, he thanked the priests, Finance Committee members and parishioners for their generosity and goodwill.
At this juncture assistant parish priests, Fr John Moras and Fr Melwyn Noronha, Mr Sushil Noronha, the secretary of Jubilee committee, vice president Praveen Patrao and finance committee members Victor Vas, Lancy Rego, Edward Monteiro, Rajesh D’Souza, Michael D’Souza, and Stany D’Souza were present.
