Udupi, Mar 26: Health services are the right of every individual. Due to social, cultural, and gender discrimination, women and girls fail to get adequate health care.
Ayushmati clinic will provide special health care to women. There is a wide scope for Ayushmati clinic to discuss health issues of women. So, Ayushmati clinic will come into existence in various cities of the state.
Ayushmati clinic will offer counselling on change of health in women during puberty and bring about awareness of fertility among the women. It also provides for a facility to diagnose non-transmitted diseases of women above 30 years.
In an Ayushmati clinic, there will be medical experts who will treat patients all days of the week.
On Mondays there will be a Physician while Tuesdays will see the presence of Orthopediatrician. A surgical expert will be present on Wednesdays and on Thursdays a paediatrician will visit. Fridays will be reserved for gynaecologists while Saturdays will see presence of specialists of other problems.
Women can get counselling on health problems faced by them including those they face during the menstrual cycle and get advice on maintaining hygiene during menstruation, family planning, and other health care issues. There will laboratory diagnosis facility and free medicines will also be available.
Ayushmati Clinic has started functioning at the Primary Health care center in Udupi (near Alankar Theater). The clinic will be open from 9 am to 4.30 pm.
Women and girls of the district can avail themselves of free health care facilities including health check-ups, medicines and counselling in the clinic, according to DC Kurma Rao M.
