Mangaluru: Srinivas University to celebrate Founders Day on Feb 14

Mangaluru, Feb 13: The Founder’s Day celebration of Srinivas University will be held at 9.45 am on Tuesday, February 14 at Srinivas College Auditorium, Valachil campus. Vaani V Alva, zonal commissioner, City Corporation, Surathkal will be the chief guest.

Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, hon'ble chancellor of Srinivas University and president of A Shama Rao Foundation Mangaluru will be presiding over the programme.

Dr A Srinivas Rao (hon'ble pro chancellor, Srinivas University and vice president of Srinivas Group of Institutions), A Vijayalakshmi R Rao (trustee-Member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University), Proffesor Er A Mitra S Rao (trustee-Member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University), Padmini Kumar (trustee-Member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University), Dr P S Aithal (vice chancellor), Dr Shrinivas Mayya D (registrar - Evaluation), Dr Anil Kumar (registrar), Dr Ajay Kumar (registrar - Development), and Adithya Kumar Maiya (registrar – Academic) will be present on the dais.

Proud son of Adka Shama Rao, renowned chartered accountant, Visionary Academician, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao started the first educational institution (i.e. Srinivas College of Hotel Management) in the year 1988. The group started with just 7 students. Today, more than 12,000 students are pursuing their higher education at Srinivas University and Srinivas Group of Institutions. Around 4,000 faculty and staff are serving the student community at Srinivas University. The group has established many milestones in the quality education in the field of Healthcare, Medical, Dental, Para-Medical, Allied Health Sciences, Hotel Management, Engineering & Technology, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Aviation Studies, Port and Shipping chain management, Social Sciences & Humanities, Management & Commerce, Education, Sanskrit, and Yoga.

A Shama Rao Foundation recognises the contribution of Teachers at High School and PU College levels in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district. This year, the foundation has selected Prathim Kumar K S (Physical Education Teacher, Shree Bharathi Group of Institutions, Nanthoor, Mangalore) for A Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Teacher Award 2022-23 for their contribution to the field of Education in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district. Manohar S Shetty, chairman and managing director of Sai Radha Group for A Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Achievement Award 2022-23 for his contribution to the field of education, employment, social and community services. Srinivas Group also recognises key achievers in the field of Social Service. This year, Murali Kadekar (Karyadarshi, YakshaganaKalaranga Udupi) for A Shama Rao Memorial Award 2021-22 for their outstanding service in the field of Social Service respectively.

President of A Shama Rao Foundation and hon’ble chancellor of Srinivas University Dr CA A. Raghavendra Rao said that all the above-mentioned achievers will be felicitated with awards at Founder's Day celebration on February 14.
