Mangaluru, Jan 14: Government First Grade College, Kavoor underwent NAAC Accreditation on January 4 and 5 under the chairmanship of Dr Raj Shekhar Bellamkonda, VC of University of Hyderabad, Dr Atul Tripathi, member coordinator, professor, department of humanities, Banaras Hindu University and Dr Maduram Lawrence, member, retired principal from MM College, Pune University.
The college has been accreditated with B++ with CGPA of 2.93 out of 4. It is very rare for a college with student strength of less than 200 to achieve this feat. This has set a benchmark for many other colleges across Karnataka both private and government, to follow, in times to come.
The college is grateful to its principal, teaching and non-teaching staff, college development committee members headed by MLA of Mangalore North, Dr Y Bharath Shetty, alumni, parents and all the students of the college for their selfless contribution in making it possible to achieve this height in the NAAC process. They have become the only college in Karnataka to achieve such a high grade with less number of students as the number of students always has a major say in calculation of CGPA.
