Mangaluru, Jan 1: Former union minister Veerappa M Moily has clarified that neither he nor his son Harsha Moily will contest in the upcoming elections from Karkala or from any other constituency.
Talking to media persons here on Sunday, January 1, Veerappa Moily said, "in the forthcoming elections, I myself or my son Harsha Moily will not contest from Karkala constituency or in any other constituency. The Karkala seat will be given to a deserving Congress candidate. In the upcoming elections to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Congress will gain a majority. If we are patient enough and campaign similar to how we executed it in Himachal Pradesh then we will definitely turn victorious in Karnataka."
Veerappa Moily said he was unhappy with Union Home Minister Amit Shah's comment over bringing about a cooperation between Amul and Nandini brands and termed it foolish and an insecure one to the cooperative system.
Congress district president Harish Kumar, former MLA Shakuntala Shetty, former MLC Ivan D Souza, Congress leader Shashidhar Hegde, Bhaskar Moily, Neeraj Pal, Shalet Pinto and others were present.
