Mangaluru, Dec 23: Carmel School celebrated its annual day on December 19, with the theme woven around “Colours of Life” for grades 1,3,5,8,9 and LKG.

The audience accorded a standing ovation to the dignitaries - Sister Maria Melissa AC provincial councillor, Karnataka province and principal of Mount Carmel Central School, Dr Leo Francis Tauro-professor and unit head, department of general surgery, Fr Muller Medical College.

 

 

 

Abdul Lateef- corporator, Port ward, Sr Sarika , principal, Sr Violette, administrator, Sr Preena vice principal, Dr Roschelle Tellis -vice president of parent teacher association as they were welcomed by the school band under the guidance of Vijay Olivera. Budding singers found a song of joy and communication in the opening song that left a lasting impact on the gathering.

Prayer dance helped to ignite the spark of divine consciousness and brought about a state of meditation, rendering peace and tranquillity . Carmel family rolled out the red carpet with the eastern and western forms mingled seamlessly in the fusion dance comprising of yakshagana, kathak and semi western –welcome dance. ‘Love creative force is the most potent instrument available in mankind’ quest for peace and security’ was excellently exemplified in the dance drama entitled -Love knows no limit by children of LKG.

The students of grade I elucidated the virtue of true honesty through a skit -the black plate followed by a dance that was indeed an astonishing performance. With bubbling enthusiasm grade 3 students underlined the importance of kindness and empathy towards animals through a dance . Video presentation of the annual report reflected all the activities carried out during the academic year 2022 colourful flamboyance of the divine tableau titled ‘‘in the footsteps of Mother Veronica’ gracefully spread the message of sincerity, prayer and compassion all should build up in themselves and be prepared for all the trials and tribulations of human life. “Pick yourself up, brush yourself off, whisper a prayer, and start where you left off.But never, ever, ever give up ”was the charismatic message embodied in the dance drama named ‘Dedication.“

“Let us choose forgiveness for our own good that will surely help us find our own god given emotional and spiritual strength to avoid bitterness and arrive at forgiveness”- was the golden message underscored in the court scene-‘The Merchant of Venice ‘acted out by budding actors.

The achievers and winners in academics and cocurricular activities were felicitated by Sr Maria Melissa, Dr Leo Tauro and Lateef with trophies.

Abdul Lateef in his inspiring message highlighted the importance of education and appreciation in the growth of the child and that mistakes are for growth. Dr Leo Tauro in his enlightening message spoke at length about ‘Guide your Children On to Right Path’. Sr Maria Melissa in her thought-provoking presidential address spotlighted the vision and mission of the school and venerable mother Veronica.

She thanked and appreciated the principal and faculty for their untiring services in training children for life through value based education and congratulated the students for their stupendous performance and for putting up a meaningful theme based programme- colours of life. Further she stressed on ‘Praise, Reward and Encouragement‘.

What are some of the important ingredients one must bring into one’s relationship with everyone in order to cultivate a meaningful and happy friendship? The answer to this question was splendidly brought out in the item ‘Nurture Friendships’.

Christmas greetings with lovely carols ushered in the Christmas season of sharing, peace, joy and happiness. The programme came to an end with singing of the School Anthem Angel, Atuf, Saniya, Amra, Sanjana, Sahithya, Reuben, Sreshta, Kairunisa compered the programme. Sr Sarika, principal welcomed the gathering and Sr Preena , vice principal proposed the vote of thanks.
