Abu Dhabi, May 19 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the opening of a new air route, M600, to Bahrain.
The move is aimed at reducing air traffic congestion between the two countries.
"The Airway's initial phase would be to facilitate traffic landing within the Bahrain FIR which serves five airports. This Airway would reduce traffic congestion, controller and pilot workload and enhance airspace capacity which will improve Air Traffic Safety between both States," said Saif Mohamed Al Suwaidi, director general of the General Civil Aviation Authority of the UAE (GCAA).
"The rapid growth and development of the civil aviation industry and air traffic movements between UAE and Bahrain were the main reasons for the opening of M600," he added.
