Mumbai (RBI), Nov 29: Dance is one of the oldest forms of expressing joy An Inter School Dance Competition 'DANCE-PIRATION' was organised by St John International School Palghar on Saturday, November 1 at Engineering College Auditorium of St John Campus, Palghar. The event was organised to encourage and appreciate talent in the district.
Noted professional dance choreographers from Mumbai, Saiba Sayed and Uvika Aravind were present in the event as judges for the competition. The competition was held in two group categories, Category 1 Grade V-VII (Classical Dance) and Category 2 Grade IX- XII (Modern Fusion Dance).
The first position in the first category was secured by the group of St John International School, Palghar and the second position was won by the students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Boisar. The first position in the second category was also bagged by St John international School, Palghar. The second position in second category was bagged by St John Junior College Palghar.
Aldel Education Trust chairman Albert W D'Souza said that the programme was organized to encourage and appreciate the talent of Palghar district.
Aldel Trust secretary Elvina D'Souza, trustees Elaine R Buthello, Aldridge D'Souza, campus general manager Satheesh Shetty and judges were present and felicitated the winning teams by awarding trophies and certificates.
SJJ College principal Suchita Gharath welcomed all. Wilson Aranha and Tejal Gharat compered the show. SJI school principal Sr Veena Montero thanked the participating teams and the organizers.
