Udupi, Nov 22: Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (E&E) at NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte organised the Eleventh edition of its Mega student hobby project exhibition ‘ELIXIR-Transforming Ideas into Reality’ on November 21 in Sadananda Auditorium, Nitte Campus. Vishal Hegde, pro-chancellor (Admin), Nitte (Deemed to be University) inaugurated the event. A total of 117 projects were demonstrated throughout the day. Vishal Hegde stressed the role and importance of Electrical Engineers in the current world scenario. He also encouraged students to transform their projects into products. Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar, principal, NMAMIT, in his presidential remarks, appreciated the efforts of the department in organizing eleven successful editions of ELIXIR.
The Inventory Management App, Elites app, Solar Street light and Electric Omni developed by the students and staff of the department were launched by the chief guest. The projects were focused on demonstrating fundamental concepts, applications of microcontrollers, simulations on digital signal processing and power system analysis and stability. A large number of students from the First year, various department students and Alumni of the E&E department witnessed the event. The event was supported by alumni of the department of E&E in the form of financial assistance.
Dr Srinivasa Rao B R, vice principal and CoE and Anup Shetty, ELIXIR staff coordinator were present on the stage. Dr Suryanarayana K, head, department of E&E welcomed the gathering. Samith Suvarna, student coordinator of ELIXIR delivered the formal vote of thanks. Jane, a student of E&E was the master of ceremony.
