Mangaluru, Nov 14: St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Teachers’ Association felicitated Dr Prakash Kamath K, who recently retired after serving for 37 fruitful years in St Aloysius College as an associate professor of Physics. Dr Prakash Kamath joined the Physics department of the College as a faculty member in 1985. Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto, SJ rector of St Aloysius College Institutions, recalled Dr Prakash Kamath's unparalleled service and humanitarian relations.
Principal, Dr Praveen Martis SJ remembered the service of Dr Prakash Kamath, who rendered his services in the departments of Physics, Electronics and Computer Science and was loved by the students, teachers and management and said that he was an ideal teacher. He also said that he had good administrative skills and wished him a happy and contented retired life.
Professor Lawrence Pinto, head of the department of Physics recalled his 35 years of association with Dr Prakash Kamath and recalled the days when he conducted various workshops in Physics and said that he was an excellent colleague.
The president of the Teachers Association, Dr Narayana Moolya recalled the service rendered by Dr Prakash Kamath in various departments of the college and said that he was an excellent advisor.
During the programme, the faculty and retired professors of the college remembered the service of Dr Prakash Kamath. Responding to the honour, Dr Prakash Kamath remembered all those who helped him during his service. Dr Ishwar Bhat, associate professor of Physics department coordinated the programme and delivered the welcome speech. The programme was compered by Dr Nilakanthan V K. Hariprasad Shetty, secretary of Teachers’ Association proposed the vote of thanks.
