Kundapur, Oct 31: “Learning of Science and Art is not to be only limited to the classrooms but when students are given opportunities to explore their talents and learning through practical projects and models, the real learning within comes out,” said Fr Maxim D’Souza, rector and principal of Don Bosco School Trasi, on inaugurating the Science, Art & Craft Fest in the School premises recently.

Speaking on the occasion, one of the judges Shridhar Ganiga, Mathematic Teacher at Janatha High School, exhorted the students to develop scientific temper and not yield to blind beliefs. He warned them to beware of hoax miracle workers who use chemical reactions to fool people about working miracles. Present on the occasion as Judges were Maruthi Naik, Mathematics Teacher at Government PU College and Kambadakone and Manjunatha Mayya, Freelance artist. Fr Roshan D’Souza, administrator and Fr Ronald Vaz, vice principal also shared the dais.

Over 90 students put up innovative working models for Science exhibition whereas over 90 students exhibited the creative artifacts some of them were prepared with throwaway materials. Several beautiful paintings on canvass drew attention of the onlookers. Quite a few students also took part in the Rangoli competition. The judges were amazed with the creativity and innovation of students and remarked that the students had put in a lot of effort and were also able to present their models with convincing explanations and answers. Many parents visited the school to view the Art and Science Exhibition.
