Karkala: Inauguration of NIDEC-Read Corporation in Nitte campus on Oct 18

Karkala, Oct 17: The inauguration of a Centre of Excellence of the prestigious NIDEC-Read Corporation will be held at the NMAMIT campus at Nitte on October 18 at 10 am.

The centre would be inaugurated by N V Hegde, chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University) in the presence of Hidekazu Yamazaki, president & CEO, NIDEC Read Corporation. Dr Shantharam Shetty and Vishal Hegde, pro-chancellors, Dr Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, vice-chancellor, Dr M S Moodithaya, pro vice-chancellor, Dr Harsha Halahalli, registrar, Dr Niranjan Chiplunkar, principal, NMAMIT, Yasuko Sato, executive assistant, Japan collaborations and other officials of Nitte University would be present on the occasion. Takashi Miki, vice-president, Tadakazu Miyatake, manager, Katsumi Kasano, Human Resources Group Leader of NIDEC-Read Corporation would also be present on the occasion. It may be recalled here that NIDEC- Read Corporation is a comprehensive manufacturer of measuring and inspection equipment with a global presence, with its headquarters in Kyoto, Japan. NIDEC-Read Corporation has also been providing internships and placements to the students of NMAMIT, Nitte since 2020.

Harikrishna Bhat, director (International Collaborations) said that the new centre of excellence would provide for collaborative research and internship for Nitte students. At the first phase of the centre’s operations, projects on software development and mechanical designs would also be undertaken, as per the statement released by the director.
