Mangaluru, Oct 12: The students of Expert Pre University College had a wonderful opportunity to listen to the inspirational and amazing life journey of chief, entrepreneur and international cyclist Sathish Rao Marathe. Marathe hails from Hiriadka near Udupi had started his life as a hotel boy who had a passion for cycling which led him to become a vagabond cyclist who toured 52 nations in four continents. Later, he became an aeronautical engineer and worked for NASA.
Presently he is a successful entrepreneur owning several restaurants in the USA.
Addressing the students with his amazing life story, Marathe said, “Education is the only asset which cannot be stolen. One should dream big and work towards making it a reality. One should not listen to the mind, but should follow the heart while pursuing the dream”. He said that he chose to promote Indian culture in America through food.
Earlier, Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, Mangaluru accorded a floral welcome to Sathish Rao Marate and described him as a true indomitable spirit and lauded his achievement. Prof Nayak also presented a memento to Marathe.
There was a question-answer session at the end and guest speaker answered the inquisitive queries of the students.
Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, Raghavendra Shenoy, vice principal (admin) and members of the staff were present on the occasion.
Suravi of I PUC welcomed the gathering and compered the programme. The programme was organised as part of EDUPATH lecture series-3.
