Mangaluru, Sep 25: Srinivas University and Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi have come out with the Non–formal Sanskrit Education Centre. Its inaugural function was held on September 23 at Srinivas Hotel.
"My dream to begin a Sanskrit course at Srinivas University is fulfilling now," said Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor of Srinivas University and president of A Shama Rao Foundation in his presidential speech.
Chief Guest M R Vasudeva, former director, Mangaluru International Airport said, "Sanskrit is a simple, easy and beautiful language. Today’s generation forgets Upanishads but chancellor Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao has taken an initiative to change society in different way by giving importance to education which is appreciable.
A Vijayalakshmi R Rao and Prof Er A Mitra S Rao, members, Board of Governors, Srinivas University. Dr P S Aithal, vice chancellor of Srinivas University addressed the gathering. Sanskrit App logo was launched by said Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao and A Vijayalakshmi R. Rao at the occasion. Dr. Vidya N. Associate Professor Srinivas University was present.
Dr. Shankar Narayana Bhat Research Professor Sanskrit welcome the gathering, and faculty convenor Shuli Goshal explained the course. Dr Bhaskar Bhat, research professor, Sanskrit proposed a vote of thanks. Dr Shanthala Vishwas, co-ordinator and Sanskrit professor at Srinivas University hosted the event.
