Mangaluru: Teachers Day celebrated at Milagres Institutions

Mangaluru, Sep 10: Milagres Educational Institutions dedicated a day to teachers by celebrating Teacher’s Day on September 10.

The programme was lead off with a prayer by the High School Section. Principal Fr Michael Santhumayor and campus director welcomed the gathering.

The chief guest for the function was S L Bhojegowda, MLC, South West Teachers Constituency, Karnataka. The chief guest addressing the gathering said that teaching is a noble profession as all the teachers play a very important role in framing the future of the society. Teacher leads the students but in case he loses track the future of the students are at stake. At present Education and health are losing its prominence and not seriously taken. Not only quality education, there is a need for skilled youth in society which will help them to attain their goal.

The chief guest and other dignatories paid homage to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by offering flowers to his portrait.

Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions presided over the function. In his message he termed teachers as beacon lights and nation builders who play pivotal role in shaping life of students. It is not only to educate the mind but to educate the heart. Fr Uday Fernandes, principal CBSE, Melvin Vas principal PU Section were present on the dais.

Shravy N, faculty compered the the programme and Stany Baretto vice principal High School section proposed the vote of thanks.

A short cultural programme and games was organised for the teachers and prizes were distributed to the winners.
