Udupi, Sep 8: “Manipal College of Health Professions (MCHP)”, is, the first and largest full-fledged college of allied health professions in India. The college goal is to forge innovative and interdisciplinary programs that reflect the changing landscape of the health care system.
The Manipal College of Health Professions pursue to train and prepare the students to develop into health professionals in order to improve the health and quality of life of individuals and society through excellence in teaching, research and clinical training and services. MCHP at MAHE offers a broad range of programs at Bachelor (20 UG programs), Master (32 PG Programmes) and Doctoral levels (PhD) and attracts a large number of overseas students (20 countries).
In its 20 years of existence, MCHP has built a strong academic and research environment through many multidisciplinary collaborations with academic institutions, research organizations and Industry partners of national and international repute. MCHP is equipped with excellent infrastructure, faculty of high caliber, and adjunct faculty from national and international reputed academic institutions.
Dr Venkatraya M Prabhu, pro vice chancellor, Health Sciences, MAHE said, "With the need for constant improvements in healthcare delivery, the need for various healthcare professionals will only continue to increase. Meeting this demand is where the Manipal College of Health Professions will play a vital and key role towards training and equipping the next generation of healthcare professions to deliver high quality care and implement meaningful research."
Dr Narayan Sabahit, registrar, MAHE highlighted that MCHP is one of the most active research and innovation institution in the field of Health Professions in the research thrust areas of diabetic foot, optometry curriculum development, hearing sciences, stroke, aging etc and faculty members & research scholars are actively involved in implementing the research activities.
Dr G Arun Maiya, dean, MCHP welcomed the parents and newly admitted student and highlighted the important achievement of the college, on this occasion of orientation program.
Dr Avinash Shetty, medical suerintendent, Dr Giridhar Kini, director, admission, MAHE, Dr B Reshmi, Dr Venkataraj Aithal, associate dean, MCHP, were present during the orientation programme.
