Muscat, Aug 18: The Bunt Community in Oman celebrated the first ever “AATIDONJI DINA” organised by the 33rd Buntere parba organizing committee @ Ramee dream Resort seeb. The gathering of 500+ members was a culmination of the bunt heritage and tradition. The organizing committee comprising of Manoj Jayaram Shetty Pervathody, Damodar Shetty, Kishan Shetty kinnigoli, Mahesh Shetty Chelairu, Ashith Hegde, Manoj Shetty Naila, Shishir Rai Chelaydka, Rajesh M Shetty Hiriyadka along with their families, under the guidance of Sri. Shashidhar Shetty Mallar displayed the rich heritage of their homeland.

The programme was inaugurated by Diwakar Shetty Mallar with a prayer song rendered by the organizing committee members. The significance of AATI in Tulunadu was briefed by Suma Rajesh Shetty in her welcome address and Shashidhar Shetty Mallar shed more light on the ancient practices and it’s relevance to modern day.

Various cultural activities were presented by the young talents with the highlights being the Aati Kalinja and Kangilu Kunitha.

More than 30 delicacies of homeland were prepared and traditionally served for lunch with the ingredients being handpicked from TULUNADU.

The winners of fun games and participants of the cultural events were felicitated by the sponsors and the day was concluded with many more events planned for the year.
