Bantwal: Bus-Rickshaw Accident – Two Die, Six Injured

Bantwal, Apr 4: In a macabre accident that occurred on Sunday April 3 evening at Mani Circle in the taluk, two persons lost their lives, while six others including three children, suffered injuries. A bus and an auto rickshaw were involved in this accident.

Yousuf Mukrik (75), and his wife, Bifatumma (65), from Alampady, died in this accident. Their daughter, Munira (22), Munira’s daughter, Salima (2), Khubra (35), her daughter Jasheera (2) and son, Javvar (2) apart from auto driver, Naushad from Alampady, were injured.

A private bus moving towards Puttur from Mangalore was overtaking another vehicle, when it hit the auto rickshaw in question and dragged it for about 150 meters before coming to a stop. All the injured were admitted into a private hospital in Puttur. They were shifted to a hospital in Mangalore at night for advanced treatment.

Vittal policemen have registered a case. Investigations are on.
